Stephane talks about eSport – computer sports gaming and sports gaming events (FIFA, NBA2K18, etc.) – and how the industry has seen continuous growth for the last decade. There is an opportunity to increase participation through eSports even though it could be seen as a competitor; eSport in tennis could raise the profile of the sport and attract new fans which will eventually try the sport and attend actual tennis events.

Prior to assuming his current role, Stephane MOREL served as a Marketing Assistant for Mars Incorporated in 1996 before joining the NBA in 1997 for which he has assumed several responsibilities until 2012, including overseeing the EMEA licensing and retail business, with Adidas, Spalding, Electronic Arts… as a Sr Director, EMEA. In 2012, he moved to Ubisoft, third global videogame publisher to lead their global licensing activities with various right holders such as ESPN, Disney, IOC and he also managed the 360° strategy of Ubisoft’s own brands.

Stephane MOREL is French and is a 1996 graduate of ESC Bordeaux with a specialization in International Affairs, Marketing and Sales. He resides in Paris. As a sports passionate, Stephane is a marathon runner and teaches sport & brand marketing in various top business schools.
